i dont know much about am idol, but whenever i do see it on tv, i always notice that paula seems to be bullshitting all the contestants. it’s kinda like whatever she says doesnt really count. she’s the cushion to the other two guys’ comments. she likes to sugar coat a lot.

Don’t get me wrong.. I like paula too.. and i know she is on meds.. and she does make it very interesting to watch.. and she is the only one who encourages the contestants to carry on let’s them know this is not the last time we will see them.. i am not bashing her..

I think that the show wouldn’t change much if she doesn’t judge, except for the fact that there wouldn’t be a pretty person sitting on the panel.
I really don’t think that her knowledge of music is that great. Does anyone know if she has actually studied or learnt music and knows any music theory at all? Her knowledge of music theory seems very vague and it only makes her stupider.
Her opinion means nothing to me since all she does is **** up to the contestants.
In responce to answerer 1: Exactly! Paula is not being paid to give the contestants confidence! She’s supposed to help people who don’t know music understand the performances. Any idiot can give someone confidence.
